In 2019 Sentry made the decision to grow seed potatoes. This aligned with our strategy to diversify our business, adding value where possible. With large areas of virgin, unirrigated, fertile land we had the opportunity to produce high quality seed potatoes. This business continues to grow with customers across the East of England taking advantage of our chronologically and physiologically aged seed, giving them a head start over seed from further North. In 2021, we formed a joint venture with neighbouring farmers to set up Eastern Seed Growers to build a new cold store and grading line. All seed will now be marketed under this new business. Our focus is on growing the varieties in demand within the current market, this includes: Melody, Sagitta, Mozart, Lanorma, Panther, Challenger, Orchestra and Lady Claire amongst others. Sentry are proud to offer high quality Nordmann Fir and Norway Spruce Christmas Trees, grown by our dedicated Farm Team in our two Leicestershire plantations. We are passionate about providing the very best trees and customer service. View our Leicestershire plantations here.
For many years we have offered trees direct to the general public through our Temple Christmas Trees farm-gate outlet, based at Blackbrook Farm, Shepshed, Leicestershire. A growing band of loyal customers come to us year after year to select their tree and enjoy the family Christmas experience. For regular Temple Tree updates, including information about our popular “Pick Your Own” days please follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
We also sell Christmas Trees in partnership with other Sentry Farm locations, who use our knowledge and experience to develop their own farm-gate sales. This can include advice on trees, accessories, equipment, and marketing.

Our Diversification Team have successfully implemented this enterprise on a number of farms and can work alongside your business to plan a successful event. We can manage the entire promotion, marketing, admin, and logistical aspects including:

- Graphic Design Service to produce Banners, Adverts and any Farm Signage.

Here at Sentry, we offer opportunities to either hone your shooting skills or to entertain guests with a wide variety of clay shooting options.
On Tuesday evenings at Wood Farm Chatteris, we open up our on-farm clayground where we offer an exciting 50 bird sporting layout from 3pm until late. The sporting set-up is regularly updated and includes a range of targets to suit everyone’s needs. If you are interested in a game shooting experience, then we also offer a 2 to 4 man simulated flush or a 25 bird compact sporting layout.
Our trap setups are designed to also be moved around the area on a trailer and elevated up into the trees, producing a full simulated game for those interested in this unique experience. This can be done on our farm or moved around the country to cater to your needs.
As with all good game days, our simulated days move around the farm and are accompanied by refreshments – The perfect experience for both corporate and personal entertainment.

Road Reclamation has been one of our core Diversification Projects for many years here at Sentry.
Our team of experienced operators are able to crush a variety of materials found in many farm tracks, this helps remove potholes and bind the aggregate back together. We then grade the surface, creating appropriate cambers in order to manage water removal from the track.
Finally using hydraulic compactor plates, we consolidate the surface for longevity. We suggest subsequent consolidation with a vibrating roller once the materials have settled. We are able to offer this service across East Anglia and are always willing to offer you advice where needed.
